For this week, I chose to look at unemployment rates in Greenland, Finland, and Iceland. Due to limitations on what years data was available from country to country, I chose to examine 2017-2021. As I expected, unemployment rates across all three countries significantly increased during 2020. Although not specified, it is reasonable to assume this increase was due to the pandemic. It would be interesting to see more data from 2022 and 2023 to see how countries are recovering from the pandemic; especially Iceland, which started with the lowest unemployment rate and suffered the greatest increase among the three examined here.
